Live DVD – In Store September 16th 2011 independently through Shock Records
The Drones gathered in a disused old factory space in Fairfield, VIC early 2010 on a sultry summer afternoon, to record an intimate live session of rarely played songs from their career that spans over thirteen years and five studio albums, including tracks Stop Dreaming, The Best You Can Believe In, Work For Me and Cold and Sober.
A Thousand Mistakes has been recorded in 5.1 surround sound and will be released on DVD, with an accompanying limited edition of vinyl for collectors, this September.
For the Fairfield Warehouse Session the band were joined by old friend and regular Hammond organ and keyboard player Steve Hesketh, who featured on The Drones LP’s Wait Long By The River And The Bodies Of Your Enemies Will Float By and The Miller’s Daughter.
A Thousand Mistakes is a peephole into the on stage life of The Drones. With over four and half hours of footage, including a full live show from one of Melbourne’s favorite venues, The East Brunswick Club, filmed in 2010, and a bonus disc featuring rare live footage filmed 2005-2010, in Germany, France and Australia.
A Thousand Mistakes is directed and edited by Natalie van den Dungen and will be available independently through Shock Records. A limited edition of the audio on vinyl will be available through Bang! Records.
