Baltimore DJ duo Chris Devlin and Ronnie Darko met back in 1998 after discovering their mutual obsession for 1980s hip-hop and scratch DJs. Both successful local DJs at the time, Fully Fitted decided somewhere in 2002 to combine mixing forces and start playing gigs together. “By that time we had been friends for a fair few years,” starts Ronnie Darko, “so we felt we knew that if we performed together there would be an automatic sense of what each was doing or about to do without a need to practice or plan it prior. We work on the same vibe, so there is quite a strong connection.” Best known for being members of the amazing live act Spank Rock, they have also DJed with the likes of Beck, KRS-One and Gnarls Barkley, as well as finding time to start the successful monthly parties Baltimore Bass Connection in Baltimore and Fully Fitted in NYC.

With The Vasco Era’s new single ‘For No-One’ currently spinning on the J’s we ll pretty damn excited about hearing it live The Falls. Vasco’s shows are renowned for being full of gusto, nerve-wrenching soul and heartfelt pangs of earnest heartbreak that soul-shake their way down one’s spine. Sid’s vocals soar and ricochet across the arena; Ted blisteringly pounds the bass and Fitzy smashes the living crap out his defenseless drums. It’s electric! With record number 3 almost on the shelves there’s an immense excitement in the air, and Vasco will, as always, deliver a power-in-your-pocket show.

Dan Sultan is a singer of immense quality and his sound can be best described as equal parts blues, soul and country. The songs are permeated with a dry sense of humour and showcase a storyteller’s knack for transporting the audience into a world where the roads are dusty, the heart is lonely and the car stereo is forever tuned to the likes of Johnny Cash and Otis Redding. Sultan’s career is about to explode thanks to collaborations, touring, festivals and an upcoming feature film, Bran Nue Dae, with a cast of stars including Geoffrey Rush, Missy Higgins and Jessica Mauboy. The much anticipated second album is also due for release in the latter part of 2009.

Sydney dancefloor princes Chris Stracey and Jack Glass have already built up a Bag Raiders hype storm. Here's why. "Fun Punch", the lead single from the Bag Raiders EP, was resolutely flogged by all those in the know and landed the duo on "best of 2007" lists and compilations galore. The Power Rangers inspired film clip received over 700,000 views on YouTube! The Raiders then forward-rolled into 2008 with the release of a second EP on the Bang Gang label, "Turbo Love" and most recently have released brilliant single “Shooting Stars” which is getting a spin at almost every house party in Oz and on Triple J.

As a significant break from his much praised work with the Avalanches, DJ Dexter's collaborative brainchild, Grrilla Step, is an aggressive combination of Polynesian log-drumming, krump dance, hip-hop turntablism and world music. The idea formed while on a trip to the Northern Territory. Unlike traditional African rhythms, where a groove can be ridden for ages, the Polynesian style of drumming which Dexter was exposed to is much more structured, varied and intense.

Hoops DJ’S are Anna Lunoe, Nina Las Vegas and Bad Ezzy – a three-lady party machine who have spent the last two years sweating it out in dark, dirty night clubs all for the love of music. Back in a time before Daft Punk played Acer Arena, Hoops started as a once off club experiment that exploded into an unparalleled party phenomena. Rumours began to fly about the mysterious ladies pushing underground beats and outrageous style, and Hoops had crowds swarming to see what all the fuss was about. Never ones to disappoint, they dished out a series of mind-blowing performances that won them a legion of loyal fans and made them a necessary fixture at any party worth attending. And that was just a sign of things to come.

After the critically acclaimed debut record 'The Submarine' was released late in 2007, Whitley ‘s (Lawrence Greenwood) songs began to work their way into the world through almost every medium. In what seems a very short time Whitley has been voted as Rolling Stone Magazine's Top Ten Breaking Artist, completed endless sold-out Australian tours, played sold out shows across the USA and become a sweetheart of festival goers who generally get more than they bargained for. Whitley will be performing tracks from his latest album “Go Forth, Find Mammoth” such as newest single ‘Head First Down’.

Melbourne mashup duo Naysayer and Gilsun take the old and dusty and make it fresh.

Their success in playing at house parties, quickly gained them huge popularity in Melbourne’s club scene with their ecstatic party sets and unique and exciting style. Luke “Naysayer” Neher and Sam “Gilsun” Gill bring the party wherever they play with their ability to incorporate a bit of everything in a way that leaves crowds begging for more.

Fresh off the La Roux tour comes Catcall. The 29 year old pop-dance-fanatic has been self-producing sounds since 2004 with three-piece experimental no-wave outfit Kiosk, before releasing her own tunes in 2007 under her Catcall pseudonym. Catcall has played a slew of support slots with diverse acts like the Gossip, Yacht, Macromantics and Architecture in Helsinki.

Whist paying homage to the greats of indie rock, The Paper Scissors delivers their own indie-rock-pop parcel of goodies that showcases their dynamic musicianship and original, organic sound.  Their brilliant debut album “Less Talk More Paper Scissors” delivered back oin ’07 was complete with off kilter lyrics, strained vocals, and collisions of guitar and drums that makes for a perfect dose of chaos; which featured killer tracks ‘We Don’t Walk’ and ‘Yamanote Line’. The Paper Scissors ‘covers life, love and death whilst still making you dance in your underpants’. Their latest EP, HOWL has been toured and received to rave reviews nationwide.

Renowned for his rockin’ club sets, Chardy has developed a cult following. A totally focused and highly motivated producer, Chardy has recently been remixing & producing with Australia’s #1 Dance act TV Rock, and as a result, his productions are flying into the Beatport, DJ download and ARIA club charts. Chardy joins Andy Murphy on stage at The Falls who at  just 25 years of age, has already solidified himself as a big game player in Australia’s elite dance music scene. Andy and Chardy will produce killer sets to shake your rump on into The Grand Threatre.

Join DJs Ichi-Yen aka Soundhustla & Oishi-So (Playing With Knives DJ’s ) for unashamed good times at this year's Falls Festival. This DJ collective has been responsible for lighting up the main stage and The Grand Theatre over the past few years at The Falls, with a boiling pot of tech- rock, indie dance and pogo bass. This year the lads will be taking the closing slot of the festival on the Grand Theatre stage, playing a mix of Falls Festival faves and future forward beats to wrap up your festival experience and New Year's eve with a bang!

“’Oozevoodoo’ is about cleansing and rebirth,” claims The Scare front man Kiss Reid. “It represents the rebirth of this band’s hunger. All the lyrics are about situations that plague a person and bring them down, and by our playing these songs we are oozing all that bad stuff out.” A thrilling, 10-song burst of livewire rock, packed with grit, infused with groove and coated in sleaze, ‘oozevoodoo’ takes all the frustration, soul-searching and hard yakka of the past few years and rewires it into one of the stand-out albums of 2009. Latest single ‘Could Be Bad’ is getting rotation on the J’s and The Scare’s live shows take on a
